How to Train Your Dragon (2010) – Storyline
The movie is set in the Viking village of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. Hiccup, a small and awkward teenager, struggles to live up to his father Stoick the Vast, the village’s powerful chief and a legendary dragon slayer.
During a dragon attack, Hiccup manages to shoot down a rare dragon known as a Night Fury. When he later finds the injured dragon in the forest, he realizes he can’t bring himself to kill it. Instead, he helps the dragon heal and names him Toothless. As their friendship grows, Hiccup learns that dragons are not the vicious monsters the Vikings believe them to be.
While secretly bonding with Toothless, Hiccup attends dragon-training classes and begins to excel—not by force, but by understanding dragon behavior. His new ideas put him at odds with Viking traditions and his father’s beliefs.
Eventually, Hiccup discovers that dragons attack Berk because they are forced to feed a massive, dangerous dragon. When the truth comes out, Hiccup and Toothless work together with the Vikings to stop the real threat. Through courage, empathy, and teamwork, Hiccup changes his village’s view of dragons forever.
